I don't know what God wants me to do!?
Understand what the will of the Lord is.
-Epehsians 5:17
-Epehsians 5:17
Now there's a verse that's useful right? I mean, we all want to know what the Lord's will is! We all want to know what his purpose in our lives is... but sometimes, we just don't quite understand it. Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, it just seems like we can't figure it out.
In fact, if you ask most Christians they will tell you, "Well, pray about it, and God will reveal his will to you when he is ready." Now that is true, but God is revealing his will to you NOW!!!
Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith.
-1 Timothy 6:11-12
-1 Timothy 6:11-12
One of the first things God wants you to do is take care of YOURSELF spiritually. This is something that is hard to do for most Christians. We find this amazing truth, and we want to share it with the world, however, if you do not understand His Word, then how can you teach others about it?
To give you an example, have you ever seen someone who publicly chastises someone for doing something wrong? I cannot tell you how many times I have seen this done, or heard gossip in a CHURCH! These are not the behaviors that God wants us to have... God wants us to be gentle, and patient, and loving... not angry and quick tempered (Proverbs 14:29). And if we fail to show those qualities, then why should anyone even consider listening to us (especially when that's what we're telling them God wants them to be like).
When you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that so your charitable deed may be in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
- Matthew 6:3-4
- Matthew 6:3-4
As Christians, we are expected to give freely, without expecting anything in return. We should not do anything to obtain favor, or status, or even a reward. But rather we should do things humbly, because they are the right things to do. God wants you to serve him, and only him. Not for the recognition and acceptance of man.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of age.
- Matthew 28:19-20
- Matthew 28:19-20
Another part of God's purpose for you is to lead others to him. By sharing the gift of Salvation, you are offering someone Gods love! You are giving that person a chance at eternal life. God wants you to not only to share the Gospel with others, but then to follow up and help them grow spiritually. This is not something that you have to be a Pastor, or a Deacon, or even a Sunday School Teacher. This is something that God wants ALL Christians to do, but you can only help others after taking care of yourself spiritually.
He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully
- 2 Corinthians 9:6
- 2 Corinthians 9:6
This verse really goes along with the old saying, "Whatever you put into it, is what you are going to get out of it." Use the above things that God wants you to do, and do them whole heartedly. As you do so you will continue to grow, and God will be able to use you even more and more. And by doing these "little things" that you know God wants you to do, you will make a Big Difference (if you don't believe me, ask someone you have lead to salvation if it was a big deal).
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
- Jeremiah 1:5
- Jeremiah 1:5
Before you were born, God had a purpose for you. And as you continue to become more spiritually mature, and as you reach your full potential, God will put his full purpose for you in action. Using you in ways you have never imagined, and using you to show the world his light.

I'm always tempted with addiction I want to stop but I just can't. I pray about nothing happen. Response: You're not alone, even Paul struggled with things he knew were wrong. But God gives us the power to overcome our temptations... He gives us the power to say "No" every time. The thing about addictions is that we WANT to say "yes" to it, but deep down we know we should say "no." The next time you face your temptation, open your Bible, and read His Word. Pray to God every time you face the addiction, and spend the time growing closer to Him instead. It's hard at first, but you will find yourself growing closer to Him, and further from your addiction. And if you fall into temptation, get back up... don't quit. Don't stop. God has given you the authority to beat your addiction, but it isn't easy... and God will use your struggle for His glory. Please feel free to email me to talk more. God Bless, Mike

AYou knoe, I'm just so frustrated. I get no joy out of being s Christian most of the time. I feel I struggle & don't understand God's word. I feel like I'm going to Hell for not bringing others to Christ & spreading the gospel. I just gratuated high school & have no idea what to major in since I don't feel led in any particular direction. How do I find peace? How do I truly surrender all that I have & all that I am to Him & life my life soley for Him & not so selfishly?! Response: Jenna, being a Christian is hard, because part of us, the old part, wants to live a worldy life. Part of us wants to put our wants before God's desire for us... even Paul had these problems, stating that he still did the things that he really didn't want to do as a Christian. With that said, the most important part of being a Christian is making sure you are saved, that you have given your life to Christ. It's understanding that you're a sinner, and that because of this you deserve to go to Hell. It's understanding that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die in your place. And that through this gift, you are made pure in God's eyes. You have to repent of your sins, and acknowledge and ask God for forgiveness. If you do this, NOTHING can separate you from God's love. That's the amazing part- nothing you do, or don't do will separate you from God. With that said, think about all the things you have done wrong in your life. Think about how much punishment we deserve for our sins. Now think about how much God has given you, and the fact that even though you deserved punishment, He died for you so that you could spend eternity in Heaven. Please feel free to contact me to talk about this more. God Bless, Mike

I am very impatient and I want to know Gods plan for me now. I know what I want to major in but how am I sure that that is what God wants me to do. Response: Brittany, I understand your frustration, but remember God has made people wander the desert in order to prepare them for His plans. Trust God and He will lead you according to His will, and I promise, His plans are a lot better than yours. God Bless, Mike

I have been raised in church my entire life. I met my wife in church. Yet I have lived my life far different from what the christian should be. I have several addictions that I can't seem to break free from. I believe in God strongly. I've never doubted his power. I know that his Son died for our sins. I just feel that I'm never going to be a better person than what I am now and that saddens me deeply. Im at a point where I don't know what to do in order to better myself. I'm tired of feeling like God is always going to be dissapointed with me. I need your prayers and some sort of guidance on what I should do next. Please point me in the right direction Response God should be disappointed, but not just in you, in all of us. We all have struggles, temptations, addictions of some sort. We all fall incredibly short of the glory of God. But God loves us so much that He asks us to put our faith into Him, that He may carry us. If you weren't important enough to God, if God didn't think you were worthy, He wouldn't have died for you, but He did. Remember, the only way we can be a better person is through Him. God doesn't want to look down on you, He wants to build you up. Think of a basketball player who misses his layup... the coach isn't sitting there going, "he missed another one," but rather "ok, we need to work on that." My suggestion is that when you get an urge to fall into your addiction, read His Word. Read His Word until the addiction passes. Pray to God, spend time with Him. He has given you the power, but you need to break your carnal will- something that is incredibly difficult. And when you fall, get back up and rededicate yourself to Him. Make your mind up to work even harder next time. And look at why you fall back into your addiction, are there people you can ask for help, treatment you can get, and are you putting yourself in a situation where you can fall back into the addiction? Are you hanging out with the wrong people, or do you need to be around people to keep yourself out of trouble? If you haven't, talk with your pastor. You will be in my prayers. God Bless, Mike

I am new in christ. sadly to say at 33. i have learned to deal with a lot of things with gods help. The last year was completly devasting for my family and God grace is the only way we made it. I am now just at a lost because I dont feel like I am doing what I am suppose to with my life...What is it god wants me to be when I grow up questions...I pray and pray so I wonder...Can you pray wrong because If so I must be praying wrong. Response: Lost, one of the hardest lessons God has for us is to put our faith in Him. Sometimes we wonder what He has planned for us, and why things are going this way. But we must remember that God HAS a purpose for us, and a special plan for your life. Everything that you face, all of the challenges, all of these trials can be used for His glory (Romans 8:28) if you trust Him, and let Him steer your life. Keep your faith in God, keep praying. Don't ask "why is this happening," or "can you do this for me," but rather, "Lord, I trust you... may your will be done." It is one of the hardest prayers for us, because we do not like the unknown, nor turning over power to someone else. But keep up the faith, fight the good fight, and trust God... in the end it will all work out... even if it doesn't seem like it is now. Your in our prayers. God Bless, Mike ps - there is nothing to be ashamed about at coming to Christ at age 33. God loves you just the same, and cares about you more than you can ever imagine.

First off I want to say that I am thankful for what God has given me, I get everything I want AND need. I have been blessed with wisdom beyond my years, I'm only 16, and I have great friends that help me learn more about God everyday. I am not selfish, in fact I would give any brother or sister my stuff if they asked. God has touched my life, but not the way I would like. To many the stuff I listed would be a huge blessing to them, but I don't want it. I seek only to help my lord my savior Jesus Christ, and my creator God. The problem I have is huge to me. I pray every night asking the lord what he wants me to do, and yet I hear nothing. I pray for my friends and family and others but when I seek to help the lord my savior I hear nothing. I seek a deeper relationship with God but I do not feel his guidence. I feel that this may somehow help me, typing my comment on this site, sorry fir it's length. I ask for knowledge from anyone that may help me get closer to Jesus and God. I ask for forgiveness for me and my brothers and sisters. I feel like God and Jesus are ignoring me, which I know they aren't cuz' of what they have given me. I pray for you to help me and I pray for anyone who seeks the lord. May you receive this post, and help me understand what I must do to get closer to the lord, and how I can understand what his plans are for me. May we serve the lord and answer his call, only I seek his call NOW, but it does not come,WHY?? Again, sorry for the length but these words are not coming from me, they are coming from the spirit helping me gain the knowledge I seek. My question is: why won't God tell me his plans so Ivan help him, and why do I feel like he ignores me? Any answers you can think of would be most helpful, I seek knowledge and answers may God help you help me AMEN Response: By your post I can tell you have a heart for the Lord! At 16 it can be hard to be taken seriously by others, but look around for opportunities to serve God. God's will for us is simple, Praise Him, Love Him, and Love one another. Now, the path that we take gets a little more complicated... some people are called to be Pastors, some teachers, etc. But remember, no matter your age, 16 or 99... God still has things for you to learn. God will shape your path, but you need to trust Him to do so. Not every prayer will come with a clear answer, and some come with the exact opposite response that we want... but always the response that is best for us. One important thing to remember is that God does not need our help. We often try to help God, but the truth is we are privileged to have any part of His wondrous design. Everything we do is by the grace of God. So be patient, keep praying, and looking for opportunities to serve God. As the old saying goes, "most people are looking in the back yard for a four leaf clover when opportunity is at the door knocking." God has the very things He wants you to do right in front of you now. Maybe there's a friend who needs to know Christ, or just needs your support. A family that could use some food, which you could collect for them, etc. While these things may seem mundane, I promise you they are not. And the impact on those who you allow God to help through you will never be forgotten by them. Likewise, you will never forget them, and God will use these opportunities as a learning step, to help you grow more in Him as well. Remember, we can always become a better person. We will never be perfect, but that isn't a reason to never stop striving for it. Or as one of my favorite songs go, "I want to be more like Jesus everyday." May you continue to grow, and trust the Lord who has created you with a very special purpose, a purpose that will be fulfilled according to His timing. God Bless, Mike

I fill as if the only way for me to please God is to be an evangelist Response: Joe, it sounds like God has put a burden on your heart, a very tough, but very special burden. Keep in mind to be an evangelist, one doesn't need to stand in front of a podium. In fact, by the very basic definition of the word, we're all called to tell others about God and His love for them. My humble advice would be to pray continuously about this, and if it is a burden you feel God has put on you, I would continue forward with it, trusting Him the entire way. However, before standing in front of a podium, be very careful that you have taken the time to research God's Word, and that you are preaching His truths, and not mans. God Bless, Mike

God has changed my life completely from a year ago. I now stay confused about what I should be doing now. He has provided for me financially, but I have so much time on my hands. I began to volunteer at the hospital, but because of health issues had to stop. Now i am just totally confused on what I am suppose to do next.
RESPONSE:
Tammy, I am so glad to hear how God has changed your life! We must always remember that God puts us in certain situations for a reason, and sometimes that means closing one door (for example the hospital) to open another. The first thing I would suggest is to continuously pray to God, not only asking Him what He wants you to do, but also thanking Him for what He has given you. Also, ask Him to help you see when He opens a door for you (sometimes the open doors aren't the ones we want to walk through). Secondly, I would suggest checking with your local church and asking them if they need any help, or know of any ministries that may (there are a lot of good groups out there). Lastly, stay patient and look for ways to serve aside from being part of a group... this may mean spending time with a friend who needs your support, or sharing the Gospel and what God has done with someone who needs to know Him. Whatever God has in mind, I am sure it is great! (Jeremiah 29:11) God Bless!
Hi, i'm a teen christian and I find it hard to focus ONLY on God when i'm at school, cause sometimes I focus on me or others how I would like to be them or what I should do and say, how can I avoid those thoughts
thanks
RESPONSE:
Rosana, are you sure you are in High School? That is a very good, and very mature question to ask!!! Unfortunately, as part of our fallen nature, we are constantly tempted to put ourselves first... Just like Adam and Eve, we want more than God has given us, and we fall victim to carnal desires. For myself, I have found one of the best ways to fend off these thoughts is by being thankful for what we have... after all, God has given us each so much in a very special, individual way. And believe it or not, the grass is usually NOT greener on the other side (we just think it is).
But most importantly, we should follow the advice of Paul in Ephesians 6:16-18, keeping our shield (or guard) up at all time, and using the "sword" God has given us to defeat temptations, which is His Word (the Bible). Just as Christ did when He was tempted by Satan, we can use God's Word to turn away evil thoughts and temptations. I wish you the best, and God Bless!

Im a christian and i think im one of the backslider what i do now
Raquel, we are very blessed in that God doesn't require us to do a whole bunch of things in order to be reconnected with Him. The most simple answer I can give you is "repent."
What I mean by that is many times during our Christian life we start to wander away from God... it is VERY IMPORTANT to realize that it is not God who is moving from us, but us from Him. In order to fix this, WE need to move back to God... and the easiest way to do that is to say "Lord, I realize I haven't been living the way I should, and that I am not serving you as I am able, and I am sorry. Please help me to grow in your Word, and grow closer to you." After that [serious] prayer, I would highly recommend jumping into God's Word and seeing where it leads you.
I will be praying for you, and wishing you the best. God Bless!

Response: Raquel, if you think you are backsliding it is very important to take time out of your day to focus on your spiritual life with God. This can mean spending time in prayer, getting out your Bible and taking time to read it, and of course getting spiritual support from others- make sure you are in a Bible believing, God loving church, one where the people will help you to continue to grow. Also, get involved in Bible studies and go to Sunday School (I know it's inconvenient to wake up that much earlier on Sunday, but it's worth it). And most importantly, evaluate what areas of your life are causing you to backslide, and get rid of them. You're in our prayers...

I Am learning so much everyday on how I can obey God..Looking for what he wants me to do..Its so amazing that he requires so little and yet our emotions make it so much harder then it has to be...I am believing God for all his promises....Make my faith stronger Lord Thank you!
